Criminology seeks to explain why individuals commit crimes and how societies respond to criminal behavior. Theoretical perspectives provide the foundation for understanding the causes and control of crime. Criminological Theory presents a comprehensive overview of classical and contemporary approaches to explaining criminal behavior. The book discusses major theories such as strain theory, social learning theory, control theory, and critical criminology. It also examines emerging perspectives, including feminist and biosocial approaches. By integrating historical context with modern research, it offers students and practitioners a deeper understanding of how criminological theories inform policy, prevention, and justice reform.
