Dr. Sandy Jessie Lynn Balela-Leobrera is a dedicated and seasoned educator with over 23 years of professional teaching experience, specializing in English, Literature, and Professional Education. Her long-standing commitment to academic excellence and teacher development has made her a respected figure in the field of education. She currently serves as an Associate Professor I at the College of Teacher Education, Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), where she teaches English and professional education subjects and also works as a Language Critic and Technical Editor.
Dr. Leobrera completed her Doctor of Philosophy major in Educational Leadership and Management (ELM) at LSPU-Siniloan Campus in July 2025. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching major in English from LSPU (2012) and a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English from Union College of Laguna, earned in 2002. Her strong academic background reflects her passion for language, communication, and the advancement of quality teacher education.
Her professional journey began in 2002 as a part-time instructor, progressing steadily through the academic ranks to positions such as Instructor I, Instructor III, Assistant Professor IV, and eventually Associate Professor I. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she served as Director of LSPU SFA, contributing significantly to student support services and institutional development. Her combined experience as an administrator, mentor, and instructor highlights her versatility and leadership in the academic environment.
